Tennis, darts & cue sports
Individual sports raise a legal question that is easy to miss: which markets may a licensed operator actually offer? This section answers it before describing tennis, darts and the rest.
Britain has no statutory list of permitted markets. Licences are held for a category, real events for instance, and markets are then offered under the operator’s own rules; the same sport is therefore priced differently from one bookie to the next.
Tennis, darts, snooker and golf lead the entries, with table tennis, badminton, padel, curling and chess behind. Golf brings each-way, where place terms differ by event and operator and the market is where they are quoted.
